Hello. I have been recently diagnosed with early squamous cell oesophageal cancer after biopsies. CT scan and PET CT did not show it so its very early. I have been told due to an ulcer in my oesophagus I am unable to have Endoscopic resection so it will have to be major surgery. I am a 41 year old female, and I am really scared about the prospect of major surgery. I just wondered if anyone else has been in a similar position? It sounds silly but I keep worrying that because it did not show up on the CT or PET CT that perhaps they have made a mistake.
