Hi, I'm new here -palliative treatment only. Had radiotherapy a year ago which helped enormously. Now having trouble eating again, and recently had persistent cough. Would I be right in thinking it's connected to the cancer?
It’s a possibility as is you have a common cold. For any health professional or indeed anyone on this site to give an opinion you need to give more details.
There are a number of explanations potentially treatment related eg if your radiotherapy was close to the lungs. Your immune system may just be low but get it checked out as I have low lymphocytes from radiotherapy and a cough ended up as pneumonia because I ignored it. Any new symptoms speak to your oncology nurse it’s their job to help.
Thank you -its very irritating , non-productive and persistent for the last week . Was definitely contemplating contacting the nurse as my follow-up appointment has just been out back for the third time, just didn't want to seem panicking about nothing
