Hello I’m new to here, 2 weeks ago my husband had chest pain and was admitted to hospital, after having a CT on his chest they found something abnormal on the oesophagus. They gave him a endoscopy and told us they found a 4cm tumour and they have taken a biopsy. We had a phone call from the hospital and spoke to a lovely lady who is navigator for the MDT she said she has referred him for a PET Scan that was done Friday, We now have to wait to see the outcome. I am beside myself and the waiting is making me so anxious. He is still eating well, he has lost weight but he wants to carry on as normal but I’m the one who is struggling and I try to keep it all in and not show him but I’m feeling so scared.
Hi,
The waiting around for results is tough but everything that he is having done, endoscopy, CT, PET are essential tests for the medical team to know exactly what they are dealing with and determine the best course of action. It is possible that he may also have to have a laparoscopy to look inside the abdominal cavity. I did. Once these tests have been done and you know the results, then you can focus on the treatment pathway. Good luck to you both.
