I had the Ivor Lewis procedure January 2024. I had my six monthly check up last week and my weight had dropped a little.
There was only the doctor at the appt. He asked questions and checked me over .
Yesterday I had a call from a dietician I was out at the time so couldn't stay on very long. She sounded concerned about my weight and to be honest has frightened me. I have phoned this morning and waiting on someone to call me back
This has set me back a bit as I thought I was doing ok. The doctor didnt seem concerned
Hi,
I had my Ivor Lewis just after you in February 2024. My weight is generally pretty stable now and only a few pounds below my pre-diagnosis weight but it can fluctuate a bit so I guess it depends on what you mean by “a little” drop in weight. If you’re otherwise feeling okay then a small drop in weight shouldn’t be too much of a cause for concern but, if you are worried about it, you should certainly speak to your medical team about it - if only to put your mind at rest
Hi sorry to hear about your weight don't worry to much and didn't your team warn you about how much weight you could lose .
I had a full stomach removal in August 23 I was a big lad at 125kg I went down to 87 .4 kg but now back up to 96.5 kg . Your body will just to your eating habits eat around 6 small meals or snacks a day .
I am sure your team will be in touch and help you out
Stay strong
Nic nac
Thank you. I was feeling ok but now they have gotten into my head
The dietician has sent me some powders to mix with water or milk but I can't tolerate them. Horrible
They shit aren’t they they want me to chuck up, in the first year you’re body is getting to know that you have had brutal surgery take it steady don’t run before you can walk and build yourself self up with normal food but not as much as before if you want to use supplements drinks but they are crap as well ask them about the multi vitamins soluble I take these every day
Thanks I will. I've only had one of those drinks and I'm certainly not having anymore. I was sipping one throughout Saturday then it was one sip too many. I think you'll know what I mean. Suppose I'm in for another lecture.
My husband couldn’t bear those drinks or shakes either …… way too much sugar. He now gets HUEL meal replacement drinks and has a glassful first thing in the morning. It seems to line his stomach before he has anything to eat. One bottle is 400 calories and it lasts him a couple of days. Might help ….. you can buy them in most supermarkets. X
