Hello I'm going for a guided biopsy on Tuesday at RM in Chelsea I'm abit scared as I'll be awake has anyone else had this done ?
also if anyone has have spread to lymph nodes Did you still receive the surgery etc , I've been told if it's local I can have flot then op then flot again - but if it's spread I can't have operation just chemo / immunotherapy etc - I mean i Am so confused by all of this it's so over whelming , waiting is the worst , im Worried about already as they say I have enlarged lymph nodes in tummy - what does that meaN for me - so people live long lives without the op and just on chemo .
i have a Disbaled child so all of this is just daunting I fell like I've cried for 6 weeks non stop x
Hi,
I can’t help you with any information about a “guided biopsy” as I have never heard of this before. As far as I aw aware, affected lymph nodes does not necessarily make you unsuitable for surgery. The FLOT chemo will often kill any cancer cells in them and the surgery always includes the removal of lots of adjacent lymph nodes for subsequent biopsy. Spread to other organs is usually a different matter. Waiting for results and a treatment plan is always a difficult and worrying time. I hope you have close family/friends who can support you through it.
hi I don’t know anything about the biopsy and my husband had his biopsy for the oesophageal cancer. It was under anaesthetic. I would recommend that you call and ask about that. Here’s us in the lining of the oesophagus so it was in operable but we are here eight months later having had a new therapy And other than extreme fatigue. He’s well and he’s 82 years old. I know how worrying it is the anxiety is horrendous. We still or I do as his wife suffer it now until they say you’re clear. I hope that yours at your age will be better Diabetic love try not to worry though I know you will and call them and ask them we went to Harley Street to the London Oncology Centre with a professor can’t recommend enough is fantastic. Let me know how you get on with all love and hug
Thank you
is the London oncology clinic private or nhs
If you are at the RM then you are already being looked after by our very best. If you are worried about being awake ask for the procedure to be done under sedation as I am sure they will do this for you. Hope all goes well.
its private
