hi there, I am new to this community although we are on the second stage of my partners treatment and I have read some of your discussions previously which have helped me support in the early days of diagnosis and chemotherapy. Thank you.
We had a diagnosis of this tumour adenocarcinoma back in October. We have been through one round of flot chemotherapy and have recently been put forward for surgery.
I was wondering if anyone had any advice regarding mixed nutrition between the J tube and Orlally ingested liquid/soft food. We were experiencing some pain and discomfort as soon as the pump started preop relating to the protein feed and postop it appears to have started again.
i am grateful for any advice post surgery which was full -,oeasoohagectomy.
Thanks in advance for your thoughts.
Hi I had a j tube fitted after my diagnosis, while I was waiting for chemo but after my second cycle I could eat and so did not use it ! But I started having a lot of pain when flushing the tube and it turned out it had become misplaced so it was removed. I have since had surgery and they did not replace it just put me on a soft diet I’m a bit unsure wether you have had surgery or not but unless you can’t get enough calories orally you may not need the pump !!
