Hi everyone, I’m a 60 yr old retired female.
I was diagnosed over 10 years ago with severe gastric reflux and take regular lanzoperazole. I have a persistent cough and find that I have difficulty swallowing solid food ie meat and vegetables, and sometimes I feel as though food is stuck in my chest, also nausea, sickness and discomfort/pain in my upper back.
I did have a sleeve gastrectomy for weight loss over 5 yrs ago and put these symptoms down to this but am now concerned that this could be symptoms of oesophageal cancer.
OI would be grateful for any advice or suggestions you may have and I apologise if I am wasting anyone’s time.
With thanks
Littlemermaid19. Definitely make an appointment with your Doctor and don’t play down your symptoms. It’s best you get referred for an endoscopy sooner rather than later. If it all turns out well then that’s great but best to get it checked out. Good luck. Julie
I hope you’ve managed to get some help I know getting a doctors appointment is hard these days I hadn’t eaten for two months when I managed to get a emergency appointment at my doctors and he sent me to the hospital A&E where I was admitted reluctantly and eventually given a endoscopy having already had a barium swallow which showed a blockage it can be hard getting into the system but when you are they are fantastic and work really quickly
Take care Tricia x
