Hi all
I never do forums but I thought I’d give this a try.
I was diagnosed with oesophageal cancer in April this year. It was early but also in the top of my stomach.
Since then I’ve had chemo and radiotherapy which was brutal and took me right to edge apparently.
I had an oesophagectomy 2 months ago which was successful but it’s been a life changing experience and process. There was some cancer left in my stomach so I’m now having immunotherapy which I started on Friday. I feel completely exhausted all the time and have been told to expect several months at least before my strength starts to return.
just wondering if anyone is in the same boat as me.
thanks
Hi Jack
Very similar journey to me. I was diagnosed at the end of March and had the 4 usual doses of FLOT followed by surgery on the 24th of September. It's been frustrating to lose all of my energy especially now when I'm on my 2nd lot of post op chemo. I'd intentionally booked a holiday to Mexico next March when I was first diagnosed to give me a target to aim at for recovery. The closer it gets the more I'm thinking I've jumped the gun! Are you having chemo and immunotherapy?
Good luck
Anthony
