A relative was diagnosed with oesophageal cancer in July.it has spread tk his lung. He is now in palliative care. I am dreading seeing him S I do not know what to say as when I saw him 2 weeks ago he had not had the news
Kenny53 so sorry to read that your relative is under palliative care. My husband is also, as has severe COPD and an operation has been ruled out, and the cancer has spread to his liver.
I am sure your relative would be pleased to see you, have a hug and a chat and talk about your family, the things you have done together.
Offer help and find out if there is anything your relative would like to do. It is tough, but they are still the same person, you knew before.
Take care
Hey Kenny
Sorry to hear your news. Just be yourself. Some good advice from Bikerbabe. It will be tough. Make sure your relative asks about the possibility of a clinical trial which might help considerably. That may be taking place in a different hospital but it’s likely travel expenses etc would be covered. Also they’ll get a second opinion which Is important. All the best.
David
