Been through chemo had asophojectomy opp. Had radiation treatment.  Now pancreas not working. Loosing weight now. Can't get creon dose right, increasing amount of creon but just get dioreah.  Anyone else in same situation or can offer advice.  For me this is the worse part of it all.

  • Hi  and a very warm welcome to the online community which I hope you'll find is both an informative and supportive place to be.

It sounds like you're having a tough time at the moment and I wondered if you'd spoken to your cancer nurse specialist (CNS), sometimes referred to as a keyworker or Macmillan nurse, about getting the creon dosage right.

I'm not a member of this forum but I noticed that your post hadn't had any replies yet. Responding to you will 'bump' it back to the top of the discussion list again.

While you're waiting for replies, it would be great if you could put something about your diagnosis and treatment to date into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.

  • Hi

My husband also has diarrhea. I'm sure you have been given loperamide to help control it. His consultant was very helpful and told us he couldn't overdose on loperamide and basically to take as much as was necessary to control the diarrhea. She said she knows of those who have taken up to 60 tablets a day. He's not needed more than 12 or so and along with the rehydration salts is doing better. Hope this helps.
