I know everyone is different, but how long, after surgery, can you start chemo again?
Hi …My husband had his op on 14th December ‘22 and he started his adjuvant chemo on 13th February ‘23 ..I think most oncologists aim for six to eight weeks after surgery ..He completed two out of the scheduled four post op cycles .It was then stopped due to him having an adverse reaction during the second cycle and a subsequent lung infection ..He found the surgery easier to deal with than the six FLOT chemo cycles he had in total during his treatment .
regards J
I was also not too bad with the first lot. I found the second course a bit tougher. For me, it was mostly the psychological effect as I had done all the hard work to get through the operation and now they were making me feel bad again. I was actually pleased when I had a tooth infection and they couldn't give me the 4th course
