So I was diagnosed yesterday during an endoscopy said it was a 2cm malignant tumor now waiting for a CT scan and help or advice would be appreciated

  • Hi Kevvy. A sad welcome to the forum.

I have recorded my profile like a diary of events. If you click on my profile icon it should link you to it. Please have a read. Hope it helps. I am currently in recovery after my op at the Derby Royal Hospital. At 2cm it's sounds as though they've caught it early.

    Good luck going forward.

    Best regards

  • I am on a similar pathway to GeoFerret, diagnosed in May, had 4 rounds of FLOT chemo, and op due on 9 October. I know just what you're going through, and can reassure you that this is the worst time emotionally. The not knowing for sure, the tests, the waiting. It's so, so stressful. However, it does sound like they've caught it early. Mine was caught early, with no spread, and the consultants I've seen are jumping over themselves to treat me, as I was told I'm curable! They enjoy a good outcome too :-) If caught early you will also be on a 'curative pathway', but unfortunately you do need all the tests first so they can tailor any treatment to you personally. I had endoscopy (and told it was likely cancer), a CT scan, a PET scan and a colonoscopy too. I felt quite reassured when I was finally given the results of everything. My consultant was very blunt in saying "You have a year of crap ahead of you" (his words), and he's not wrong. Chemo is awful with the side effects, but by round two I was eating normally again. Dreading the op, but inspired by others on here. You will have a difficult time ahead, but please just take one day at a time. And don't go on Google! There's a lot of misinformation on there. Wishing you all the best on this horrible pathway, but here for when you need support. x
