I started with an endoscopy in April, and was told I had OC. Then had ct scan 2 weeks ago and a pet ct scan yesterday. Was given my results today that it is inoperable as it has spread to nearby lymph nodes . Oncology appointment to be scheduled for chemotherapy, I am only 57 never smoked or drank alcohol. What am I to expect with chemo?
Hi Teenyh. Sorry to hear your news. I am in a very similar position. My staging was T3N1M0. I have an appointment on 5/6 with oncologist which I assume is to discuss chemo/operation etc. They have told me there are cancer cells in a couple of lymph nodes but not said it's inoperable. I don't understand this but because quite a few people have said they can't have an operation but others have had the operation and had lymph nodes removed too. Maybe chemo will shrink your tumor and you won't need an op.
Keep posting. It's good to get it off your chest and to share your journey.
Best wishes.
