Hi thank you for allowing me to join and just type some of what we are going through at the moment.
My dad went for an endoscopy two weeks ago and it picked up an ulcerated lesion at 37cm (ab oral) so a biopsy was taken and he was sent straight for a CT scan and was told to wait two weeks for the result. Fast forward to yesterday and my dad had an appointment and we had the news we dreaded it was cancerous and they have staged him at stage 1 that was all that we was given. Is that normal at this point?
he has a PET scan next week and the following week his medical and pre op as he was told yesterday it will likely be surgery and chemotherapy.
we're just all a bit stunned at the moment with taking everything but worried if after the PET SCAN could his staging change?
sorry for all the questions I'm just concerned and worried for my dad. He's being so brave and taking it all as it comes he really is my role model thank you for reading xx

It will depend upon the authority and the full circumstances of the diagnosis as to the treatment, but this has worked for me. But it is no cakewalk.
