Diagnosed with LA D stage oesopgagitis . Biopsies taken but no results yet .

I had thought they were looking at stomach cancer but now realise it was upper gastrointestinal.

I am finding the nausea / ‘ full feeling ‘/ and trouble eating anything , hard just now .

also the pain radiating through to me back is troublesome

has anyone been in similar stage ? I’d appreciate input

Thankyou

  • Hi Molroo2, and welcome to the group

It’s not nice when you start the journey and all of us here have been on that journey or are still travelling on it, you are in the worse part at the moment the waiting and endless tests and examinations but rest assured your Team needs as much information as they can get for your treatment plan. My advice regarding your present problems and the other problems you are going to encounter along the way is always speak with the Oncology Nurses if you are concerned as they are there to support you all the way through, the main concern is your intake of food and fluids as you are going to need to be as fit as you can for the treatment ahead and hydration is very important- trust me because I didn’t take any notice !! – so try to use soups as intake, thi  if you want or just cup a soups but you need to let them know your struggling so they can assess if a feeding tube or pEG is needed prior to treatment it sounds awful but it’s best to keep you as fit as you can be. You will find aches and pains unfortunately but don’t always think it’s more problems as some I found are symptomatic and not anything to do with the ‘C’ word.

Please speak with your Team asap about your nourishment intake and come back to the site as much as you want, I’m also sure some others will give you some more support as well

    Take care

  • Thank you so much for your kindness and encouragement. I get my results on Tuesday …..will know then if there are any pre-cancerous cells or ‘ just ‘ the LA—D stage .

I am feeling nauseous most of the time and that horrid ‘ lump ‘ sensation. Trying to keep up fluids and I’m ok with soups /yogurts etc .
I don’t know if it’s to do with the acid in my system Rolling eyes but I’m being driven crazy by whole-body itching .

Thank you again and I will update when I get results

  • Well I’m feeling low as I received no news at all . Rang Endoscopy Unit …..was told Consultant was the one to ask ( had already been told by his secretary that Endoscopy would be getting in touch ) .
I’ve been waiting 3 weeks for biopsy results ……another person in endoscopy unit now says it’s a 4 week wait !

Can anyone here tell me average wait time please ? I intend next to contact the GP who originally started me on the fast-track system .

  • Hi Molroo2

    Any news yet?

It is difficult to say how long these things normally take.. I do hope you do not have to wait much longer.

  • Thank you for asking Lowedal ……..it’s been a long wait !  Yesterday I decided to leave a contact request on the surgery’s link page . Shortly after I received a phone text saying GP ‘ needs to speak to me ‘ and would ring .

I am wondering if I got ‘ lost in the system ‘ ……still at least I hope I’ll get results now . Im feeling no better really despite  increased Lansoprazole and Gaviscon . I’ll let you know what he says .

    Thanks again Molroo2
