Hi all,

Just joined group. Just had FLOT 2 cycle yesterday. Got an infection on Sunday, but because I noticed my temp rise straight away, rang hospital who saw me straight away and gave me antibiotics based on the blood tests they did. By Tuesday blood results show normal rates and they said did the right thing by letting them know.

Struggled to drink fluids as tasted metallic last week, but changed from a glass to a plastic beaker and tastes fine now. Used a plastic straw, which also worked, but massive difference not using glass.

Found the GSF injections giving me sore left ankle, but probably don’t want to risk having low white blood cells, by not taking them.

  • Hi Fit123. Welcome to the group, glad most things are going well and you are over the infection, you may find all sorts of changes as you go on, with taste, skin and general feelings, even after 12 months my feet and hands are continuously cold.

I also had a low blood count half way through which effected the RT more than the chemo treatment so they gave me a blood transfusion, if you are having any problems with the treatment the advice I would give is always mention it to the Nurses or Consultant so they are aware and can monitor or change something.

    Hope everything goes well

  • Thanks, for the advice. Wearing socks in bed certainly helped me as toes were tingling a bit, but not too bad. Fingers ok at moment, but will keep a close eye on them and contact the nurses if gets worse.
