Hi all,
This is my 1st posting.
I had an Esophagectomy 6 weeks ago and had my follow-up meeting with my consultant today.
My staging was explained and it reads T4 NO MO I am put at T4 positive as I was only 1mm away from cancer breaking through and spreading. They took away 22 lymph nodes and all were clear of cancer hence the NO as far as spreading is concerned my metatarsus at MO indicated that there was no spread to other areas of the body..
I see this as very positive but any advice and guidance from experienced post-op people would be most welcome.
Kindest regards
David
Hi David
that does sound like good news and I hope your recovery is going well.
I had T3 and found in 2 lymph nodes but has not spread further. This is great news and I am about to start my second round of chemo to mop up any stray cells. The way I am looking at it is this is a difficult cancer to detect and treat so we are lucky to get the chance to be cancer free.
No one will tell me what the prognosis is for the future just that, for me, completing the full treatment is my best chance not to have cancer return.
Good luck
Jac
