Hi my partner  back at the end of September  2022 was diagnosed with  hinata hernia,  very quickly  they picked up on abnormal  cells , and the pet scan showed a small  cancerous stage 2 ,  tumor,  we where floored for , a month , before we got all information  together and told family  members,  he now half way through  his FLOT chemo , so far not bad on chemo , but the last week hair starting to come out his skin papery thin , and pigment not good, and the visible  signs to him are starting to show , apart from that not many side effects,  bit of nausea,  and tingling  a day or to after chemo, he's another two sessions  of chemo to go , then a scan to see if  chemo has did what its supposed to do,  shrunk tumor  , this is our first ever  experience  off cancer in either  side off family,  need a lot of patients  and lot of waiting  around on results, hard to keep positive  at times , its difficult  to not let this consume  you, conversation  on a weekly basis

 Love nettie x

  • Hi nettie

Welcome to the forum, I am sorry to read that your partner has an OC diagnosis, but it is good that overall he has not had too many bad side effects to the FLOT

I can confirm that my Husband also went through a stage of losing his hair, having skin a little more translucent that his norm. He experienced tingling and numbness in his hands and feet, but overall he handled it very well.

I wish you partner every success with his treatment, please advise him to call the Macmillan team on the number in my signature if he has any questions, it is all confidential.

There are other forums on here too, that may be of interes to you, including family and friends, and emotional support and many others

Best wishes for success on this journey, I hope you are able to talk openly to each other and support each other day to day .
