I have chronic kidney disease together with recent diagnosis of OC and problem is how to treat both. Currently in hospital. Came in for dialysis but cancer took over. Lost weight, no strength, can’t keep any food down. Consultant considering how best to get nutrition into me before any possible cancer treatment. Both methods proposed have risks. Hope to settle on one procedure today. Anyone else have both diseases? I am going crazy with the constant changes of what to do.

Hi Catw,
Sorry you're on this journey sounds like you have enough to deal with without the OC. Feeding tubes are often used when people are struggling to get enough nutrition. There are also food supplements like ensure..there are other brands as well.
Sending positive vibes!
Thanks. Ensure am not keen. Anyway, successfully had nose tube inserted this morning and if feeding works ok through that, there is a discussion on Monday about swapping to a stomach pipe thingy which apparently can be more reliable. If I can keep it down, I can eat normally as well. A trouble is tying in renal friendly food with putting-on-cancer- weight food. Don’t want to mess up kidneys any more.
