Oesophageal cancer

I imagine it is bitter sweet news to learn that your tumour has shrunk but you still need the Op,  that said and as scary as that may be, I hope it is good to know that they can perform the operation and that by doing so it may mean erradication.  

Any surgery, no matter how small has it's own level of concern, and it is only natural to be anxious and even a little terrified as the time approaches, so I do hope that you can find all the strength you need to see you through.

Best wishes for it! You will be in very good hands - and the great thing is that op offers a good chance of a complete cure. (If it didn't, the doctors wouldn't be suggesting that route.)

It's major surgery of course, you're completely right to take it very seriously, and it will take time to recover fully from. But please, keep your spirits up, and just ignore any horror stories you might have heard - dwelling in advance on what might go wrong won't be helpful. Just focus on a complete cure, and a return to normal life.

HI Kells, my partner had this surgery in May time and chemo again after, although it is a long hard road you can get through it, 6 months later he is out the other end can eat most foods and we are taking a short holiday on Saturday.  He has a few small issues but is handling it all well, so whilst im sure your very worried try think of the positives, in a few months you should be able to get life back on track again, I wish you all the best x
