Hello All

My husband has Oesphagael cancer T3N3M0. He has just had his 2nd cycle of FLOT and has horrendous headaches and can't sleep.  Has anyone else experienced these side effects?

Thanks

  • Hi

Sorry to hear about your husband.  It may be the steroids that are causing him to be unable to sleep and causing headaches.  I used to feel wired!
It would be worth asking advice from the oncology team.  I had a phone number to call which I found really helpful.

Hope he feels better in the next couple of days.

    Take care

    Jac

  • Thankyou Jacquiw. They are trying to elimate the cause so he wasn't given any anti sickness medication. I suspect it's the FLOT.  He does feel slightly better this morning.

    Take Care

  • Hi. I've just completed my pre-operative FLOT chemo and I had nasty headaches and insomnia with the steroids. But insomnia went away a day or so after steroids. Ask oncology dept about side effects with chemo. I you husband cant sleep they may be able to give sleeping pills

    1. Thank you Kells Hope you are doing well. The team know as he had headaches the first time for around 10 days. The steroids stop the second day so they didn't think it was them. They are trying to eliminate the cause so wasn't given any anti sickness drugs but still feels the same. They think it might be the  G-CSfF injection, however only give him the first one today. So difficult when he's in pain and I can't do anything
