    Hey Hour,

I'm sorry to hear you're in the OC club, however you will get some great help, advice and inspiration on this forum, I know I have.

I'd advise having a good look through the chat and taking what seems most relevant to your situation, reach out to anyone who you think can help, after all, we're all here to support each other.

From my own recent experience, only diagnosed in September, I've went through most possible emotions to end up cancer free and healing well from ivor lewis surgery.

Just give me a nudge if you have any questions and best of luck!

    John

  • Hi ,

thanks for the reply . I am still in shock with this diagnosis. I am glad you have made a good recovery. Did you have to have chemo / radiation before and after the operation? This is what they have suggested for me , depending on what the PET scan results in terms of stage of cancer come back with. From the CT scan they said it hadn’t spread to Lymph nodes … so that’s good. It all seems like a waiting game at the moment!

    Hi hour,

I had 4 rounds of chemo pre ivor Lewis surgery,  I'm now getting some "mop up" post up chemo, but tired and only got it Friday but nothing I can't handle. I was stage 2 initially and 3 at surgery.

I'm seeing people getting some great results on here with flot chemo and my cancer reacted do not as hoped. p

I had signs of cancer in one of 27 lymph nodes so the post up chemo is probably for the best.

it's a bugger of a shock but as I said, seeing some great results on here. If suggest taking as much support as you can from friends, family, local organisations etc.... Usually there are local charities who can help with practical support like driving you to and from appointmen ts , therapies etc.

  • Thanks for the info . Am trying to manage it all, having acupuncture for my well being! I have lost a lot of weight as on a liquid diet but have discovered some great liquid food called “YFOOD” which is 500 calls in 500g . All I crave is a piece of toast but hey ho soup and Yfood will have to do!
I am still finding my way round this site but I already find it a great help. Thanks
