My husband was diagnosed with stage 4 oesophageal cancer in October, he did have it 6 years ago and got over it but it has now returned. 6 years ago he was given a small chance f survival but managed to beat it. This time he has lost a lot of weight due to the fact that towards the end of last year he could get anything down not even drinks. He’s had a stent fitted and is managing most foods most of the time but things stick and he has to drink cola or any fizzy drinks which help. Does anybody on here have a stent fitted and have you any hints or tips on what to eat or any advice on dealing with the frustration it causes us both when he can’t get his food down (which does happen daily)?
Hi Doglovers
Thank you for sharing some of your husbands journey with, there are a few recent posts with regards to stents which I am hoping will be answered by others that have that experience.
I wanted to bump your post up a little in the hope of keeping the Stent posts together, I am sorry that it is not something that I can answer directly for you.
It is encouraging for me to read that after being given a small chance of survival your husband has beat the cancer's for over 6 years, that is truly amazing.
I wish him continued success and hope that you are managing to keep your strength up.
