Hi, at long last I have joined up!

I have just finished the preoperative phase of chemo (FLOT) and am now preparing for my CT scan next week which will, hopefully, lead to a surgical assessment within a fortnight and, in turn, surgery by end of May.

I am currently particularly interested in how long the side effects of FLOT are likely to take to ease - in particular my sensitivity to cold (especially my nose) and tingling fingers.

Look forward to getting and, hopefully, giving help to all.

Cheers!

  • Hey hereward,

I am not sure for others, but I finished chemotherapy a month ago and no longer have the cold sensitivity. It went away after week 3 I think.

My feet though however I'm getting neuropathy so they always feel freezing and tingle even in a hot bath haha. This can last a few months it's where my nerves are repairing I think. This only started a week ago and doesnt happen to everyone.

I found I improved quickly, although my finger nails remain weaker many years later.

    Welcome to the forum

Good luck with the CT scan and Well done on finishing the preoperative chemo,

My husband has times still when his toes feel cold even when to touch are warm, his fingers are occasionally numb and like harvey says his nails are in very poor condition, this mainly caused by the oxiplatin treatment within the FLOT. But the main, intense cold feeling was gone within a few months, so it looks like everyone has a different experience of this.

Hopefully yours will settle soon and you will know the results of the surgical assessment also.

    Good Luck
