Hi
I have been diagnosed with oesophageal cancer just over 6 months ago.. Mine stems from my barretts oesophagus diagnosis, I should have had my routine camera and biopsies December 2019 and it kept being cancelled. After a lot of phone calls and me threatening to take it further I had it done and low and behold they found a growth covering half my oesophagus. The past 6 months have been crazy with tests and surgeries ects and now I am waiting 6 weeks to my next surgery but the weird thing is I only started really thinking about cancer when all the hospital appointments have slowed a little and tbh I am not coping well so any advice would be greatly received. It doesn't help that I still cannot eat (if I try anything solid it gets stuck and I get horrendously painful hiccups) so I am losing weight and have no energy at all. My sleep is bad as well.
Any tips gratefully received.
Thanks
Hi angel, Have a read of my profile I have shared my experience from not even being able to manage even soup and building my way up to eating again. I have lots of recipes in there for juices which have really helped me get the nutrition I need. Also protein shakes are great to help you get the calories you need you can get these from the doctors for free I highly recommend fresubin they taste great and are easy to drink :). If you are struggling with solids juices, soups, protein shakes are great to get the nutrition you need to stay strong :)
