Hi. I have just joined on here. My dad, 93 years old, has been diagnosed with stomach/oesophagus cancer. He has a bad heart too so has only been offered 5 sessions of radiotherapy as palliative care. I am his carer. He lives with me. I am also having treatment for breast cancer which luckily hasn't spread. I have had chemo, an op and radiotherapy. I have yet to have zoledronic acid infusions. My dad wants to know how much time he might have left. So far he has list about 3 and a half stones. Can anyone give him some idea please? I have been told that the entrance to the stomach will eventually be completely blocked. At the moment he can swallow ok but can only eat little and often. I am trying to stay strong for him but it is hard when fighting it myself. My husband was furloughed so was able to look after both of us but he is back at work now so I am coping. Juggling diffetent appointments at different hospitals! Can anyone give any advice re timescales? I nursed my mum when she had ovarian cancer but it sounds as though Dad will probably starve to death.
