My stent is being removed tomorrow and I am so worried my swallowing will get bad again.

Still they did say if this turns out to be the case that I can have a permanent type inserted.

I must admit I am struggling with this new site. I cannot get into my group

I'm struggling with the site too.  I can't get into the forums which I used to, particularly Crystal's thread, surviving .......

Anyway, I hope you are okay and the stent has improved things for you.  Kenny is going in next week to have a stent inside his existing stent inserted with the hope that this will improve his swallowing.

    Thinking of you

hi everyone, well......at least I've found two of you.....

I log into 'my account' when I come in here and then go into my 'groups'.  I'm able to find the oesophageal group, but I can't find Crystal's thread - Surviving Oesophageal Cancer - either and this was one of the most helpful forums on here.

If you do find it - please let me know! xxxx

Hi everyone....... I do the same go into 'my account'   then into groups and its there oesophageal BUT yes a lot of groups not there.   Sheena I hope Kenny gets something to help his swallowing.  Brian still only eats what he has for months.  Cereal for breakfast a variety of small things for lunch and soup for tea followed by Ice cream.  He tried some spicy rice yesterday but it didnt go down.  He had 4 pints of fluid around his lung last week and had to have it drained off.   Does Kenny ever suffer from anything like that or has he in the past?   They said it will happen again so they have bought his scan date early to the 17th Oct to see whats going on.  The oncologist nurse said they would do some treatment what that means I dont know!!!!   Maybe more chemo Im not sure.   How is work going?  Everything still ok?

I really liked the site before, keeping up with everyone now they all seemed to have gone.  I hope they dont give up because it is easy to start a new thread.

Love to all and I hope you all have a lovely week-end Theresa xxxx

Have been lucky that since radiotherapy am able to eat pretty much what I like but funny thing is Rice is a no go for me too. I haven’t been 100 percent for past month. Energy and breathless. Have heard about tlliquid on lungs but what are symptoms? Hope Brian and yourself keeping well as I know the strain it is for my daughter who I moved in with. Take care xmas

i thought it was me being new that took so long to get to the one group I am in from logging in

  • Hi Jan88

Pleased to read that the radiotherapy has enabled you to eat a bit better, that is a good thing.

Sorry to read about the liver spots but hopefully the chemo will stop them in their tracks.

    Good Luck with the treatment

I am just starting radiotherapy to improve swallowing and was told to expect it to be worse for 2-3 weeks then improve....Did you find that and how long is it meant to last ( I forgot to ask)

Hi I sailed through radiotherapy however as they predicted day after finished treatment tumour was painful an u suffered nausea an sickness. Did end up on drip but an really big but, I came through it an on 14th day I woke up with no pain an couldn’t eat what I wanted an ever since has just got better. Back to eating crumpets curries cakes an all taste buds are back to normal so I regard a total of one month j oh f discomfort as totally worth the end results
