Reflux

Try Staysure but don’t do on line, phone them, I spoke to a really nice girl and paid £418.00 for a couple, my husband is 80 and has had a stroke (10 years ago) and I was less than a year from surgery and radiotherapy. I wanted full cover and repatriation for the 2 weeks and declared all illness. When I did on line it was double that.

I was woken up this morning with dreadful reflux much worse than I’ve ever had before, it has left my throat really sore as it really burnt.

I was wondering what you did to help this if you’ve had it since ?  

no change to my normal routine eating early sleeping sat up etc !! Tricia

It caused really bad nausea so I didnt really want to eat. It lasted for a few days and I just ate toast or cheese on toast. I also took Acidex Advance. I was still feeling awful on the Saturday so I rang 111 who were extremely helpful. The doctor prescribed Gaviscon Advance which my surgery do not prescribe anymore because of cost

 This helped a lot and I started to feel better by the end of the day. I actually woke up in the night feeling hungry. After the weekend I started with a cough. So got a doctor's appointment and was diagnosed with a chest infection. Whether this what was making me feel so ill with the reflux who knows

Thanks for getting back to me feeling better today throat ok but still have a slight cough, the only difference I can think of was a had a cup of camomile tea before bed to help me sleep !!

I do have some gavison advance so will near in mind if it happens again but I hope it doesn’t 16 months on and it’s still a learning curve!

Glad you are feeling better. I blame mine on eating miny imperials too late at night. Never again xx
