I've finished 3 weeks of radiotherapy, 2 weeks ago.
I've had the side effects to deal with, but feel I have made good progress and they are getting less frequent.
My main concern is trying to put on weight. I was underweight before I got cancer. I guess that I am a size 6 now. Today when washing I made the mistake of looking in the mirror and it shocked me to the core. That got me thinking. has the radiotherapy not worked ? In approx 1/2 months I will be having an endoscopy to see whether the cancer has reduced in size or -unlikely - that it has gone completely.
I have always been a bit on the vain side and took great care on grooming and wearing nice things.
Now I ask myself, does my skeletal appearance mean that I have lost the battle ? I am 84 years of age
Any ideas or thoughts, or perhaps you are experiencing similar issues.
Thanks, Angela.
