I was diagnosed Sept 2022 with 12cm stage 4 EC.
Around 2006 I had a friend who was an ex-bar landlord and at the weekends after work we'd pop down the pub as a group. I started having red flush to the soft tissues around the eyes especially but also cheeks. He thought it might be due to cleaning fluid in the draught beer lines but it was happening no matter what I drunk. I wasn't a heavy drinker, mostly just the odd social. I'd never had a reaction before, so I just went fully onto soft drinks and didn't think much of it. Over the years I might have the odd glass every month of so with no reaction.
Recently I saw this video about Alcohol Flush Syndrome which, if you have it, increases your risk of esophageal cancer 40-80x more than someone without the mutation.

I was wonder if anyone else experienced this?
