Having diagnosed a grade 4 OC I am about to start 5 treatment of radiotherapy and have been warned my swallowing problems will get worse for a couple of weeks and then hopefully improve. Can I ask people who have been through this did this actually happen and how did they manage...Thanks
Hi Canalman
I had hoped that someone would be able to answer your question here, unfortunately I have no understanding of the effects of radiotherapy and OC...
Let's Bump this post up and see if anyone else can help?
Have you started the treatment now?

Hi I had radiotherapy for 10 days (break for weekend) no problems during treatment but on day after finishing had pain where tumour was (6cm wrapped round between stomach an gullet. Was warned thus would last 2 weeks. Had no energy an felt sick and did gave one stint in hospital for dehydration however it was worth all discomfort as on 14th day no pain an gradually over next few days could eat anything I liked even curry. This was back in March so still eating an drinking (only things I don’t get on with is fizzy drinks) but oh what a difference eating again an enjoying taste. You will get there an it will be worth it. Stay strong
Thank you Jan88 that a great help....Hopefully in a week I should get my 5 appointments
Hi Canalman
How did you get on with the radiotherapy? My hubby is due to start 5 days of palliative radiotherapy next week, we have the same questions you were asking a month ago
