Hi everyone,

About 3 weeks ago I somehow came across an advert for an Air Physio device which claims to get rid of the mucus build up that many suffer with, especially in the morning.

We have now had 1 delivered to see if its claims are truthful.

It's a simple, nebuliser sized item. But it uses no medications or any power source.

The way it works is you take a deep breath, hold for 3 seconds & blow as hard as you can (but don't overdo it) into the mouthpiece. This makes a small ball bearing vibrate which then sends those vibrations down the gullet making the annoying mucus work itself loose. So now when you cough it up, much more comes out. And the more times you use it, the stronger the lungs get, so in essence you can increase your blow pressure making that bearing vibrate even more which in turn gives stronger vibrations all the way down the oesophagus. Hence it becomes easier to get rid of thick mucus. And it's very easy to clean, just 4 parts twist off for washing. And it's well made, I read reviews stating it was flimsy, no it isn't.

So, no refills, no medication, & no need for any power source. It's that simple. I wouldn't have purchased one if I hadn't read so many good reviews on Amazon. I even posted a question for those that use one, & I made it clear that I didn't want the manufacturer's opinion. I had 2 positive replies.

So what I'm going to do is see if it does what it says for 2 weeks. Then I will post the results, good or bad. I truly hope it's good, it would help so many people to breath better by removing that thick mucus.

My comments will be here by the 18th of June.

Best wishes to everyone out there,

Graeme.

    Good Morning Lowe',

Very nice to hear from you, hoping all is well.

I stumbled across this device accidentally. It just intrigued me so much that I wanted to read user reviews, lots of them. And with the odd exception this little device was given good reviews. So I posted a user only question, "Does it work for mucus relief ?" 2 people told me it worked just as advertised. So I bought one on that basis, it's mucus that's mums worst enemy.

It simply gives the user a more productive cough & brings more phlegm up & out, this strengthens the lungs so the more it is used, the deeper the breath becomes. And with that, the user can blow harder after a short period which in turn removes even more mucus.

We have 72 hours of use so far, but my mum says she can feel it working little by little. Not a huge step yet, but something is happening.

For the hefty price (money is secondary to my mum's health), I really want to see major improvements after a months use. But I still want people to get regular updates, so I will post every 2 weeks, then every week if it suddenly gives mum greater relief.

What I don' want is people spending money on this until I can really give a solid review that it really works. And I won't hide any shortcomings either. People will only get the truth from me, & I'll fight my corner if the producer reacts negatively.

I was only looking for a pair of lumbar supporting kitchen chairs for better posture, then this appeared. I found the perfect chairs but minimum orders are 8 or more. Daft, they still make a profit even from 2 items.

So let's hope I've found something special here. It could change quality of life for so many people.

I'll make my comments simple, honest & from personal experience.

Again, nice to hear from you,

    My best wishes,

    Graeme.

Hope everyone is doing great this morning,

OK, a little early (3 days) I will now give a very quick opinion of the Air Physio,

My mother states that it beats steam inhalation, salt water ingestion, & fizzy drinks for removing that horrible mucus .

But there is a caveat, the difference is minimal, it is not the magic wand we expected, Yes, it does work, but if you cannot blow hard enough, it's not going to work. You need to make a ball bearing reverberate by blowing as hard as is possible without getting light headed. So if your exhaling is too weak, all it does is make you tired out. And you only get 1 size bearing.

In summary I believe that people who can give a good strong blow into it will benefit, but if you have weak lungs it won't rattle the bearing, & that's the whole selling point.

On Amazon there are similar devices, but the ball bearings come in small & large sizes. I can see that the small bearing would be more beneficial as it's lighter, thus it takes less puff to rattle it. Then you can use the  larger size when you get stronger over time. It's a simple weight of bearing scenario. It just builds up that strength so you can change to the heavier bearing & hopefully be able to rattle it. Please note that 2 different size bearings are included in this package.

For the price, the AirPhysio is well made & easy to clean, but you NEED to exert enough blowing power for it to work. And it is expensive.

The other similar device is cheaper & may well be the better option.

       .

It is my honest opinion that the 2 ball bearing device is the better option.

I hope this helps anyone who is thinking of buying one.

  • i bought an Air Physio a few weeks ago. I think it is helping, but I’m not sure how much. I have no knowledge of the other product you mention, Pathfinder. you seem to have interpreted the instructions differently from me. i rarely blow hard and I adjust the apparent weight of the ball bearing by tilting the device slightly. I may seek some clarification from the manufacturer.
