  • Hi Tinks5

How about cottage or shepherds pie. this can be made quite sloppy which may help a little also.

Dal eats a lot of salads, Mediterranean diet type foods...

Stews? Hotpots, Casseroles. these can be made with meat supplements, Tofu, Quorn etc

I am sure you have thought of all of these.

I hope you get some other suggestions.

How is Mum doing at the moment?

Mum had a bad day. Could not  even keep fluids the other day down.. More on supplement drinks from dietician now.  We have care coming in now.. District nurses and hospice as needed. All starting to feel so much like da-ja -vue from my dad.  We have even the same hospice / Macmillan coordinator.

    Food keep trying :(

Thank you for asking and replying

What about jacket potato with tuna and Mayo? My mum leaves the skin. I really should be able to come up with some more options but nothing is coming to mind.

Hi Tinks5,  my mother also has oesophageal cancer and she has only been able to eat pureed foods since her diagnosis in November 2020.She had a stent fitted in January this year and also one week of radiotherapy in April. Now it is just palliative care. I have been making lots of nutritious soups for her.eg.Chicken and vegetable, pea and mint, beef and vegetable, cauliflower cheese etc.I also put plenty of butter in the soups and evaporated milk ,cheese and cream depending on the type of soup I am making. I blend the soup and then sieve it to make sure there are no lumps. Regarding desserts, I make rice pudding and semolina and egg custard. I hope this helps a little!!
