Devastating prognosis.....

My partner has oesophagus cancer and recently had a stent put in which has greatly improved his eating and stopped the sickness and mucus that he was previously been bringing up.

We were aware that the cancer had spread to a lymph node in the chest and that things were not good, but yesterday the consultant told us the devastating news that we are looking at only a few months. My head is reeling and I cannot imagine what lies ahead. I'm trying to remain positive for my partner but I am so frightened about what lies ahead and terrified of how he might suffer at the end.

He is such a proud man and so brave and I need to be strong but I'm feeling like I'm living in a nightmare just now.

Any advice would be so much appreciated thank you for listening. xxx

    Dear Adrienne,

I am so sorry that you and your husband  have received this devastating news, I'm afraid the only useful advice I can offer is to contact Macmillan on their helpline, 0808 808 0000, I am sure there will be someone there who will be able to guide you through both the practical and emotional times ahead. I wish I could help you more, I'm sorry, I am here if you need to talk. Sending both you and your husband love and strength.  XX

I’m so sorry to hear this, we are just starting this journey, and it’s all such a shock. I can’t imagine how devastating this must be, my husband is recently diagnosed and it’s all so overwhelming. You have to be strong for him, but I hope you have family and friends to support you too. x x will be thinking of you x
