Hubby has just finished cycle 2 a few days ago, for the most part we have kept this whole thing as positive as possible but seem to have hit a bit of a low.
After cycle 1 he felt like he was able to swallow better which was great news, but now after cycle 2 he's had a lot of heartburn, indigestion etc, he hiccups a lot as well even in the night. It's just really worrying for me as it feels like it's not working.
He's been so tired which has depressed him as he's not able to do as much and was so active before. I've told him that he's trying to do to much too soon and he needs to give his body time to rest and recover, but he feels like it's only going to get worse and is so down. It's so upsetting.
We're having HCX and I tried to search for posts on that on the forum here but there's not many - only mine and the rest are 4/5 years old which makes me wonder :( ... has anyone else here had HCX?
I'd be grateful for any advice or help anyone can offer
Hi Yani10
I'm not a member of this group and haven't had HCX but noticed that your post hadn't had any responses.
As I didn't know what HCX was I looked it up on this site and discovered that it stands for the combination of drugs cisplatin, capecitabine and trastuzumab, which you obviously know. You could try putting these names into the search bar, if you haven't tried this already.
If you click on the link to the information you'll see that tiredness is one of the common side effects of this treatment and, if your husband hasn't already, he should tell his team this as they may be able to help.

Hi Yani10,
I hope things have improved for your husband in the few days since you wrote your post. I am 5 days into my 2nd cycle. I'm not sure what HCX is, I have Oxaliplatin infusion in hospital and Capecitabane tablets at home. I had some terrible of hiccups over 2-3 days lasting into the evening and night. My other half said it was like sleeping on a trampoline! I was getting a lot of "triple-hiccups" too - so strange! I noticed that the Emend anti-nausea medication I was on had hiccups as a common side effect and in fact once I stopped taking this (Day 4) the hiccups did subside.
Best wishes
