Hi all,
My husband has been diagnosed with oesophageal cancer and all we know is traces in the liver, our appointment with oncology is Wednesday however he normally struggles to eat but last night and today, nothing can get through. Even liquids are coming back up and no food has got past all day nor last night. I am so worried, he is fine in himself and the dietitian said that food could get stuck; how long do I leave it before going to the doctors/hospital? Is this normal? Any advice welcomed, thanks x
Hello, My husband also has oesophageal cancer, but has just completed 4 cycles of FLOT chemo prior to surgery, so although I understand some of what you are going through, thankfully he has managed to eat and drink normally throughout. Do you have the number of your cancer nurse specialist to call for advice? , because being unable to drink fluids is, in my opinion, a real risk. I can only advise you to contact your CNS, if all else fails I would call 111. Sorry I could not give you any answers. X
Hi, thank you for your reply. Cancer nurse only work Monday - Friday and this started Friday evening. Thankfully he has eaten and drank today and it has gone down so I think the blockage has cleared but I will ring the nurse tomorrow just to check. I wish your husband all the best on his journey! X
