Just thought I would pop in again and say hello. I was diagnosed with Stage 3 N0M0 in May 18, had chemoradiotherapy and the Ivor Lewis op on 10th September 19.
One year on from diagnosis, doing OK. Still some off days depending on what I eat but in the main, back to work and doing holidays, making memories. Still some off days, some dumping syndrome and tiredness, still trouble walking too far as out of breathe. Am a non smoker and non drinker which I think helped my recovery and eating well. Lost 3 stone in weight which wasn't a bad thing for me.
The treatment and op were hard to deal with but meds and alot of sleep got me through it. Life will never be the same but it's just a different life to that I expected. The main thing I am trying to say is that even one year on, it's still early days but I feel OK and it can only get better.
You can come out the other end from what is a horrible time, but keep strong and positive. Wishing you all well in your roads to recovery xx
Hi
good to know you are doing okay.
It took me about two years to settle into a new normality. But having done so life is pretty damn good.
Very grateful for what life has dealt me. I think it has had a bigger long lasting effect on my wife who had to support me through the tough times.
Counting the days, making every day count.
Brent
