Hi all. I'm hoping this is going to help me. I was diagnosed on Wednesday with squamous cell carcinoma in situ? She said the rarer form of esophageal cancer. I'm 34 and have 2 young children and in a little bit of a daze at the moment. They have said I will have a peg feed fitted and I will have chemotherapy and radiotherapy then surgery. So much information. The consultant seemed positive so I'm holding on to that. Any advice or just a friend would be lovely at the moment.
Thankyou for reading.
Hi there,
I have recently been diagnosed with squamous cell carcinoma. When you say you are in a daze I know exactly what you mean. I am having my first lot of chemo on Tuesday next week. I am pleased that treatment isn't too long away but also scared as I don't know how I will feel. If you want to chat please feel free to private message me or just chat on here All the best Ruth
Hello Ruth & Anxious 1
Welcome to the Forum. You have some great people and great advice from so many people here. Don't make the journey alone and feel free to ask anything at anytime.
I'm over 18months post Ivor Lewis op now and glad to report feeling stronger by the day.
Diagnosis is quite shocking for everyone. With the help of my wife and daughter I produced a blog (more an A-Z) to share my journey and help others.

Best of luck to you both on your Journeys
