My darling dad is 83years old and Suffers from oesophageal cancer. He had radiotherapy two years ago and was on a feeding tube for a little while. He has been reasonably okay for the last year or so but at a recent meeting with the consultant he was told that the cancer had returned and he has a tumour which is 2 inches long. They are now monitoring the growth of the tumour
He is struggling every day to eat – this is because of the reflux from his stomach. He has been given lansoprazole but when he has reflux from his stomach then he cannot eat or drink – he cannot even set a small amount of water because it will not go down
I wonder if anyone else has had such similar problems and if there is any advice at all which you can offer me to help my dad?
I am quite desperate to help him and we will try absolutely anything to try to help him.

I'm sorry to hear how your dad is struggling at the moment and it's perfectly normal to want to do all you can for him. Although I'm not a member of this group I was passing and noticed that you hadn't had any response.
I also noticed that you had posted this question in ask a dietitian and wondered if you'd realised that you'd had replies from both the dietitian and a nurse in which they've asked some questions to which you've not yet replied. If you haven't seen their replies clicking here will take you to them.
