hi all I’m 4months Ivor Lewis post op I’m eating normal food but sometimes find food gets stuck and have to drink water to clear it I think it’s due to the join shrinking as it heals but can any thing be done about it I have heard that it can be stretched or is it going to be something I have to live with

Hi penfold, this is quite common after surgery and you are well passed the unable to get the gullet dilated stage. If it's too soon after surgery they won't dilated in case it opens the newly healed tissue. Phone the hospital and they should arrange an appointment for you. It's done under local anaesthetic and fairly straightforward, I had it done after about 6 weeks and have had no problems since. That's about 2 and a half years ago. Good luck and kind regards Frank.
