Barrett's

Hi I am new to this group I have Barrett's I was diagnosed two years ago.

I have had a recent Endoscopy and I have a short segment about 2cm the consultant

told me there has been no changes which is good but I do get anxious how would I know if

something was changing.

    I knew nothing about Barrett's oesophagus until I read your post and although not a member of this group I didn't want you to go without any replies.

    As you're aware Barrett's oesophagus is not a cancer and only 3% of people with it will go on to develop oesophageal cancer during their lifetime.

    It's understandable with your family history that you should be worried that your's might fall into that 3% and you want to know what signs to look out. I've found this information for you on symptoms that might be a sign of a more serious condition which you could have a read of.

    It might also be a good idea to speak to your consultant or specialist nurse to ask them what are the signs that you should be aware of.
