Hi I am new to this group I have Barrett's I was diagnosed two years ago.
I have had a recent Endoscopy and I have a short segment about 2cm the consultant
told me there has been no changes which is good but I do get anxious how would I know if
something was changing.
Hi Tinylady99 and welcome to the online community
I knew nothing about Barrett's oesophagus until I read your post and although not a member of this group I didn't want you to go without any replies.
As you're aware Barrett's oesophagus is not a cancer and only 3% of people with it will go on to develop oesophageal cancer during their lifetime.
It's understandable with your family history that you should be worried that your's might fall into that 3% and you want to know what signs to look out. I've found this information for you on symptoms that might be a sign of a more serious condition which you could have a read of.
It might also be a good idea to speak to your consultant or specialist nurse to ask them what are the signs that you should be aware of.
Wishing you all the best
x
