Difficulty in swallowing anything

Hi there I hope your brothers pain has settled down with the stent! My mum is in a lot of pain with her stent, she says it’s like someone ripping out her insides xx

Hi Florian,  My husband has the same diagnosis, within weeks of being diagnosed and following scans, xrays and blood tests he has started on flot chemo,  which will be followed by surgery and more chemo.   He hasn't had to have any stents put in because he has only suffered relatively mild swallowing problems, his main symptom was feeling bloated with acid reflux pain.  We found the best advice and our first port of call was his cancer specialist nurse, appointed by the hospital.  We were given a business card with phone numbers and instructions to call whatever the problem or simply to answer questions about the treatment.  We were also given "Red Card" with emergency numbers to call, which we have used when we were concerned about side effects he was suffering and he was able to be seen immediately for re-hydration.  So my advice would be, bypass the GP and tell him to contact specialist nurse, suffering in silence should not be an option, Good luck and positive vibes X

It sounds as if there is a very good system where you are.  I think.it must vary from place to.place.  and bypassing the GP seems to.be the best as the oncologist must know a lot more about the treatment.
