Just read your reply,i am so sorry to hear that it went the wrong way for you.I am trying to be positive with all of this,but its unknown Territory as we all know and that's what makes it so daunting,at 65 ive done a lot and seen a lot and don't regret one minute of my life,its the feeling of not being in control that scares me.Thank you for your reply. yes, dealing with uncertainty is very very challenging.I was diagnosed last March and when I look back I realise that if I knew then what I know now I would have reacted very differently . I think ts disease is 90 per cent up in the head when the symptoms are not too severe or even mon-existent. Please try to be positive,(not easy) and enjoy life wherever and whenever you can and remember there are lots and lots of positive stories on here , try to avoid the negative ones.

I am 63 so we are of a similar age

Hi Faz, I was 57 in 2016 and diagnosed with T3 N2 M0 staging with the tumour at the valve at the top of the stomach. I didn't have chemotherapy and radiotherapy prior to surgery and I am enjoying life differently but still here. As  hard as it seems, having a positive attitude and believing that you will get through this process really does help. There's a good bunch here who will all be willing you to get through this. my surgery was five years ago and since then I have lead a pretty active and happy existence. In fact I am happier no than I ever was before this cancer thing.

For instance, Today I am flying to Miami and picking up a cruise that will take me and my lovely wife through the Panama Canal up the West coast of North America to Canada. 

The outlook I have on life now is not to put things off but to do them now, which is not a bad way to live!

My health is good and I take minimal medication. So my advice is not exactly to embrace what is coming but at least acknowledge that there is still life to live!

Not sure of your staging , but It maybe that you are going onto a similar regime to me re pre op Chemo - I had ECX for 3*21 day cycles and then 6 weeks 'off treatment' pre op....then repeated 6 wks post op..

Like Frank, Brent and many others say on this site - try to keep positive - it's more than half the battle - it worked for me fortunately

                   Thanks for the reply,I haven't been told what its been staged at but it is advanced! Im going to have FLOT chemo and three twenty one day cycles, sounds similar then after that a scan two weeks later,to tell me that they have shrunk the little xxxxxx and then an op six weeks later to remove Tumor and Lymph Nodes,thats the way it is going to go.And I think maybe chemo post op to mop up any stragglers.Full steam ahead from Wednesday the 17th.Again thanks for yours and everyones support.I will let you know how im doing.
