I am starting to lose my head with the hospital, can someone please help? they keep giving different statements about my dad and it is so confusing. They have said his main tumour is in the lower oesophagus squamos cell and it is 4mm and then it has spread to 1 distant lymph node. They have said they will do 4 cycles of chemo, and intense radio therapy but only to treat the main tumour. The lymph node will not be treated by radio as it’s too distant. I was told his prognosis is more than 12 months and the outcome is good but then they have told me he’s stage 4 as it is metastatic and there is cancer in places we can’t see on the pet scan yet. Yesterday I was told it’s stage 2 the main tumour but it is stage 4 because of the spread. Has anyone ever got through this? I’m so contused with it all and I just want to know if he is going to pull through or is there a chance
