My uncle had radiotherapy and chemo together 4 months ago for stage 2 oesophageal cancer, . He had his PET scan last week and went for results today to see if the treatment had been successful. The Dr said he was pleased with the results but the PET scan had flagged up something at the side of his throat and his bowel. He said they were 'on the fence' whether or not it was inflammation or cancer so he's now to have the camera up and camera down for biopsys. Has anyone had this and it turned out to be inflammation? He is so deflated and worried.
Hi CSQuinn welcome to the forum and sorry that you have not had a response as yet..I think it would be challenging for any of us to answer that query with any certainty and therein lies the issue, the waiting..We have all been there in one form.or another waiting for results or tests or treatments and it's never an easy time for anyone.. Despite what's happening for you they are doing the right thing by investigating these areas and taking biopsies and unfortunately it is just a waiting time. Sorry not to have been of more definitive assistance but hope my reply is in some way helpful for you..Gail
