BONE METS

Hi everyone, hope you are all doing well.

We went for Tony's scan results yesterday midway through 2nd line chemo of paclitaxel.

Oesophagus tumour and lymph nodes are stable, liver METS have gone but he has new spots on his bones in the hip, oncologist didn't seem overly concerned about it, he is to have denosumab every 4 weeks to strengthen his bones and carry on with the chemo, he also said he will keep in reserve radiotherapy to blast at it. The bones METS are a worry but I am still taking the scan as positive news. Also Tony is feeling the best he has since diagnosis, he has gone from 9 stone 5 to 11 stone whilst being on paclitaxel and is eating and swallowing well, long may it continue.

Has anyone else had bone METS?

Much love Angie xxx

  • Hi Angie,

Just wanted to say, I agree that you should take the scan as a positive, as much as no further mets would have been better, the fact that Tony is feeling good, is fantastic!  It seems the treatment is working and the Team he has are on the ball, aware already of next moves if needed, which is great Slight smile

    Wishing you both continued success.

  • Hi Lowe,

Thanks for your good wishes, yes no further mets would have been great but this disease just keeps on giving. His oncologist has been really good and always ready for the next step, he has his bone strengthing injection today with chemo so they are on the ball.

How is Dal doing? Is he still currently off treatment?
