Monday was my 3rd dose of Paclitaxel and Carboplatin and following my severe reaction to Paclitaxel last week I was nervous. The staff were wonderful they explained I would be given extra premeds to counteract the drug and it would be administered very slowly.
This did the trick, had all my chemo and no reaction.
The staff also arranged for my painkillers and other medications to be switched to oral suspensions as the pain in my throat caused by radiotherapy was now much worse and I had problems swallowing my tablets and eating.
I hope this post helps reassure anyone with concerns taking Paclitaxel.

Hi Sharon/Glebe and thanks very much for taking the time to share your experience with paclitaxel.
I'm sure other members of this group will find it reassuring. I hope the rest of your treatment goes well.

Hi Sharon,
My dad Is also on paclitaxel. Currently on his 3rd cycle, with his first week of cycle 3 started yesterday. Thankfully he hasn't experienced this side effect. The only side effects he has had is fatigue and thr bigger one being a pain in his leg, otherwise he's doing well and gaining weight.
Hope your doing ok.
