Thank you for all of your help and advice lately
My friend has decided he cannot put himself through "mop up" FLOT 3 and 4 - post surgery.
Very bad tingling in hands and concerned it would be permanent if he carries on, extremely bad mental health
Has anyone else been in this situation and still gone on to be well? I have heard most people are unable to do all 4 post flot, is that correct? why is that?
Stage 3 - they say removed all 4cm tumour and clear margins
Only "meh" was 2 of the LN had cancer out of nearly 40 but consultant suggested they would have been localised
I would love to hear some positive experiences!
Thank you all as usual
:)
Hi,
I managed three of the four post-op FLOT at 70% strength. Just couldn’t face the fourth especially after how tough I had found the fourth pre-op FLOT. My oncologist told me that very few people manage to complete all four. The reason being the severe battering that your body takes from the surgery means that it is really in no fit state to cope with the rigours of chemo. It was really only after I finished the chemo that I felt my recovery journey began. Still on it nearly one year on from surgery but things do get better. Best wishes to you and your friend. CB
