Hi,
I was diagnosed with GOJ back in January and it sounds like my experience with the oncologist was the same, matter of fact and straight to the point, no emotion at all. I was put on 100% etoposide ( 1/2 litre ) and 100% carboplarin (1 litre) for 6 rounds, which went well. On two occasions I had to have filistigram injections due to low white blood cell count - side effects from the jabs were way worse than the chemo.
Finished last round at end of June so now just fighting fatigue.
did or does anyone suffer with chemo belly (dull ache - stabbing)
no more treatment at the mo and no surgery as was diagnosed as stage 4 due to it spreading to my liver. My 3rd round chemo scan showed very promising results as tumour on liver down from 8.4cm to 4pm and GOJ tumour showed significant regression , so hoping the CT scan from 4 weeks ago will show it’s even better. Never had any issues slowing food.
Hi,
I'm so sorry you're on this journey but I'm so pleased for you that the treatment is working. I had nausea while on chemo amongst other things but I don't remember stabbing pains. I'd suggest checking it out with the oncology nurses. I found them a good source of support. I think I xalled them once a week for the first rounds of FLOT.
Take care
