Hubby went to see oncologist on Tuesday, CT after 6 cycles of chemo report wasn't back but images were, he were told as far as he could see no new growths but needed to wait for report, hubby has had increasing bad back so he was arranging MRI to see what was happening.
Had a phone call this afternoon to say oncologist wants to see him in the morning, I am freaking out now.
We rang upper GI nurse who confirmed he had been discussed in MDT meeting today and they wanted to see him to discuss next steps.
This must mean report is back and things have changed.
I am trying to stay positive.

I hear you! We are here for you ((hug))
There are no words that will make your fear of what tomorrow may bring any less, and it is indeed scary to know that your Hubby's oncologist wants to see him tomorrow, obviously there is something important that needs to be discussed urgently.
Next Steps, regardless of the outcome are going to give you a greater understanding of what, when, where, how.... I hope that whatever the information is, the MDT are able to give you both all the support that is available.
I hear you, I understand why you are freaking out, I think I would be too.. Hang on in there.
Thinking of you both

Hi Lowe
Thanks for your support.
We just can't believe that we saw him on Tuesday and he showed no real concern and now 2 days later we are being called in.
Apart from the back pain hubby has been doing so well, still swallowing which is good, how can things change so quick.
Another sleepless night to come.
How is Dal doing now?
Angie xx
Hi Angie
Scary time for you guys, of course it could be a number of things, but we always fear the worst, I hope for both of you that it is not.
Dal is still waiting on the sponsors allowing him back on the trial, as his lungs have all but a tiny smidgen cleared up, but it has now been 11 weeks since his last treatment, that combined with the amount of missed treatments at the end of last year and beginning of this, it is all a little worrying... but, Dal in himself is doing really well, so we can only hope that internally he is doing ok too.
I hope you do manage to get some sleep, you will need your strength, tomorrow you will know more and then you can take on those next steps.

Hi Vonn/Amanda/Lowe
CT report was back, the cancer in the oesophagus has got thicker and is wrapping around the bone/nerve which is causing the back pain so they are going to do radiotherapy maybe up to 10 sessions to relieve the back pain and slow the progression, no spread anywhere else and the spot in the liver is really tiny now.
The reason they rang was his oncologist is going on holiday for 3 weeks and wanted to update Tony and put the radiotherapy in place before he went away, wish they could have said that on the phone it would have saved a lot of upset and sleepless night.
We have a plan and hopefully it will work
We are feeling more relieved and now carry on the fight.
Thank you for your kind words it means a lot.

Hi Angie
What a shame they didn't say that on the phone, it could've saved you from freaking out.
It's good that they've finally found the cause for Tony's back pain. I hope the radiotherapy eases it a bit.
Good news that it's not spread and the spot in the liver is tiny.
What a rollercoaster of emotions for you all. Hope you can get some sleep tonight.
Take care,
Amanda x
Hi Angie. Good to read your comments regarding today’s visit. Thankfully you have a plan and the radiotherapy has been put in place. I had 25 sessions of radiotherapy and overall dealt with it without too many problems; just extra tiredness and towards the end of the five weeks soreness when eating, but this got better after about two weeks. Keep on keeping on and hopefully you can both sleep better tonight. Take care, Julie
Thanks all, hubby is already asleep bless him, I feel like I have aged 10 years overnight, this journey is horrendous but we fight on ️
